Hacked Board

I think everyone knows that the Bulletin Board was hacked last Friday. It is currently unavailable for messages. I could have put a new one up and asked everyone to re-subscribe (Sabeur says it is technically possible to recover the messages but I don't know how) but, following the Developers meeting of saturday, I want to hold off for a bit and make an improved and more exciting bulletin board which is part of a more exciting website.

Jamal has offered to help in creating a more secure bulletin board and Sabeur thinks that the old messages and member list can be recovered from the MySQLdatabase. I admit that I have been a bit wary about having too many people play with the main bulletin board but it is easy enough to set up a number of bulletin boards which people can experiment with. I propose that a techie sub-group of the Developers Group can work on this. The group would consist of Jamal, Sabeur, Ridwan and anyone else who can help. There would not be a need for live meetings since we have discussion lists.

I'll set up some bulletin boards over the next couple of days. A first question the techies might look at is
whether it is possible for a list of people signed up to one PHPBB to be ported to other boards.
