Flash Animation and Multimedia Design Courses

Today two NYPO / Holiday School courses started at Forest Gate Centre and at Winsor Park Centre. The course at Forest Gate Centre was tutored by Trevor Jarvis and introduced 11 young people to the basics of animation using Flash MX. The group covered a lot of ground in the first day of this five-day course and some people were already showing what artistic minds could do with the software.

This is an animation by Isti who had never used Flash before:

At the end of the session Trevor asked that everyone should do an animation involving using a ball. He suggested that the different animations could be put together so that the animation could move from one person's footballer to another's tennis player to another's pool player etc. with the ball changing shape as it moves from animation to animation. The group were asked to draw storyboards of their sequences as homework.

At Winsor Park Michael Stephenson and Shaiqur Rahman (Spike) introduced a group to multimedia web design by using Digital Blue cameras.
