JICTA SessionThis week's JICTA session was attended by Pratik, Jamal, Usman, Arsalan, Bernadette, Veronia, Fola and Elyas. The main theme of the session was preparing portfolios for submission for bronze Youth Achievement Awards. YAA Coordinator, Florina St Marte spoke to the group about how their work could fit into the YAA format.
NYPO DevelopersThe following has been sent by email to members of the NYPO Developers List. This is addressed to (some of the)people who are or have been involved in developing the NYPO project. The people who receive this by email are on the 'developers' discussion list and can send messages to the list by using the 'reply to all' option or by emailing developers@nypo.org. I am using email rather than the discussion forum at because not everyone on my list is signed up to or is a regular user of the discussion forum. Stuff that I send to the developers list will also appear on the NYPO Blog Many of the people on the Developers List attend the Junior ICT Assistants (course) but the developers group is intended to be wider than that. I hope that the group will become very active online and that everyone on it will make regular contributions to the NYPO discussion forum. If you are not a member of the forum or have not made contributions recently please join or start using it again. NYPO depends on communication and it is better to say something trivial or even silly than not to say anything at all. Three bits of news about NYPO: 1. There have been a number of website changes over the past month - this includes the new wiki and a few design changes. 2. A NYPO conference is planned for a saturday in mid May. People on the JICTA course will be doing some planning on this (there are some notes on the NYPO Blog) but I would like everyone on the Developers List to be involved also. 3. I have started thinking about ICT/NYPO related courses during summer. It is likely that the range of courses will be wider than it was last year. I would be happy to discuss suggestions for courses. I have included staff on the list but have not gotten round to including everyone that should be here.
