Some Eastern Orthodox churches celebrate Christmas on January 7th because that refers to December 25th on the Julian Calendar. 25th December is not actually the birth date of Jesus. Sextus Julius Africanus popularised this idea in his chronography i.e. a reference book written for Christians in AD 221. Hope you have now gained an insight as to why Christmas is celebrated.
