Winter is coming… NYPO is warming!

By Kiran Patel On 17 November 2009
The winter is coming… NYPO is getting warmer!
As the night close in quickly, the light comes from the moon and the street lights pave
the way back home from work, school or college. The weather is getting colder and
the time for snow is coming closer. All of this brings us indoors and the different
celebration going on in the last month of the year allows us to spend more time with
family and friends.
It has always been associated with December the month where Christmas comes
around where shopping and presents are on some people’s minds but there is more to
it…
In the coming weeks there will be a number of articles published in the Hyperzine
exploring the different cultures, traditions, events and memories they have of all the
different things going on in the month of December. Make sure you favourite the
Hyperzine in your browser.
A competition has also been set up to allow everyone to get into the winter spirit and
enjoy this time of the year! This is the first Winter Competition that has many
different ways of NYPO members to get involved in from simply participating in the
special Winter Competition Topic Threads on the NYPO forum to creating a poster
with a winter theme that can contain anything imaginative like a poem, story and
images etc. related to Winter.
There also a special Winter Competition Take 2! That will allow everyone to design a
winter themed logo for NYPO similar to way Google changes their logo for special
events.
Further information on the Competition can be found and entries should be submitted
to Winter Competition thread on the NYPO Forum. The winners will all have their
work displayed on a special section of the NYPO Facebook Fan Page that will be
available for everyone to see on Facebook as well as the Hyperzine.
