The Hyperzine is for and made by young people who live or study in Newham and other interested members. It is the first of its kind, an online magazine that has exclusive content from the NYPO members. The content is vast ranging from articles, poetry, reports, videos, art, and interviews with people, events in Newham and other creative and topical content.
The Hyperzine is THE place to find out what is going on in Newham for young people and the issues and opinions that the young people in Newham have.
The last Census (2001) showed that Newham has the highest proportion of population aged 0-24 in England and Wales – in fact, 31% of the young people in London are living in Newham. That’s almost a third of the London population!
Newham also has the highest number of ehtnicities in the whole country – making Newham a fantastic multiculural experience.
It makes sense then to tap into that, and so the Hyperzine was created provide the explosion of creativity and information for and by its young colourful cultural mix that makes up Newham’s community.
