Call of Duty 4 – Game Play!!!

By Babu Chowdhury On 12 September 20093 COMMENTS

Call of Duty 4Call Of Duty 4 has received many, many different awards for the game play and graphics but here is what I think of the game.

Call Of Duty 4 has a massive variety of weapons and maps which give you the ability to do many different things while you are playing online e.g. snipe with the sniper guns (M40A3, Dragnov, R700, M21, Barret .50 Calliber) which you can add a variety of scopes to, or you might want to run straight across the map with an SMG (e.g. Mp5, P90, Mini Uzi, Skorpion etc.). There are also many different modes you can play online and each mode has a different objective to it.

The graphics are probably the best part of the game. Let me give you an example, in the game when you throw c4 the player shouts “throwing c4!” and lets all his teammates know that he is throwing c4. When he is shouting this warning, if you look closely at his mouth you can actually see his mouth and eyes moving, which is just truly amazing! Read the rest of this entry »

Dance!

By Sonica Sitpura On 9 September 2009ADD COMMENTS

DaNceDANCE! It either brings you on to the dance floor or it makes you want to run away. Either way it makes time fly by because you are having fun. It creates a warm lively atmosphere which can bring family and friends closer together. The different types of dance are: salsa where you have to be flexible, Indian where there is more hand movements, Bollywood is a mix of everything, Street dance is more locking and popping and Classical is sharp movements. All of these styles form different rhythms to create a whole dance piece.

I enjoy dance because it keeps me active at home and in class, it keeps me healthy and fit, it is fun. I can make new friends and meet different people each time a new term starts. It makes me happy and gives me an opportunity to teach my family and friends who don’t go to the class but enjoy dance. It also gives me lots of chances to perform in and out of Newham in front of hundreds of people. Read the rest of this entry »

Attack of the Dragon

By Girl with the Pink Bag On 5 September 20096 COMMENTS

Attack of the DragonHi. Call me “Girl with the Pink Bag” because that’s my undercover name. Anyway I’m writing this because each month I want to tell you and just only you about my life. You may be wondering if it’s going to be an ordinary life. But open your eyes as you will begin to read the most extraordinary chapter of my existence as I reveal all.

In my family I am the youngest, and it sucks. Well sometimes it doesn’t because I get more of what I want than the other girls. I’m not going to tell you literally how many of us there is, because believe me; you’ll go crr-ray-zeh!

Now let me introduce you the favouritism in my family. My mum who is in her early 40’s has two favourites out of the whole family. And the answer is obvious. My two brothers. It’s true they say that mums love their sons more and Dads love their daughters more. Because my mum would give any extra food to them and not to us girls.  She won’t even let us eat anything that we have stacked away until our Read the rest of this entry »

Killer Mosquitos

By Manna Begum On 3 September 20091 COMMENT

Blood Sucking MosquitoSummer, everyone loves it! A bit of sunshine and summer rain seems like the perfect weather. Unfortunately for us it is also the perfect weather for mosquitoes to breed. Yes, they are the blood sucking insects. This summer the population of mosquitoes has risen by 3 time which means being 3 times more likely to get bitten!

Don’t you just hate waking up in the morning and starting to scratch at what seems like a small spot, but ends up getting bigger and swollen? I know I do and I also want to prevent this from happening again. That is why I am going to tell you ways to limit the amount you get bitten. Read the rest of this entry »

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

By Visnu Jayaseelan On 1 September 20091 COMMENT

Harry Potter and the Half Blood PrinceI watched Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince recently, a film based on a book by J.K. Rowling. I think this is the must-watch movie of the summer.

The movie was about Harry knowing that the Dark Lord has returned and chosen Draco Malfoy for a mission. Dumbledore helps Harry against the Death Eaters and Voldermort. The film has some dark scenes, making it more and more serious than the other stories.

What I liked about the movie is that it is packed with action, adventure and magic. It has some interesting and scary scenes. What I didn’t like is that there are some scenes that are mostly the same, and I was not too keen on the cliff-hanger ending.

Compared to the other Harry Potter movies, I think this one has has less magical scenes. Apart from that, there isn’t any difference, and the quality is just as good. Read the rest of this entry »
